Spain has introduced a new mobile radar system to monitor and enforce speed limits on highways, particularly in areas under construction. The innovative device is mounted on a vehicle and can detect speeding drivers before they even spot it.

The radar system, designed to be flexible and adaptable, is currently stationed on the A1 highway, which connects Madrid to Burgos and Vitoria. Its primary objective is to curb reckless speeding, a major cause of accidents and fines in the country.

With the ability to issue up to 20 fines per minute, the mobile radar is a potent tool in the fight against highway infractions. Its battery life can last up to two weeks, and it remains connected to the internet for seamless fine transmission to traffic authorities.

Installing the radar in areas of ongoing construction seems a strategic move, considering the staggering number of speeding-related fines issued last year - over 15,000. By increasing vigilance, officials hope to reduce such incidents.
