Volkswagen unveils sportline transporter: the golf gti of vans
After decades of developing vans, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is finally offering a sporty variant of the iconic Transporter. The new Transporter Sportline is positioned at the top of the range, blending a sleek design, premium interior, and special tuning features.
Aggressive exterior design
Starting with the exterior, Volkswagen has worked on various design elements, including unique front and rear bumper designs, a black glossy grille, and Sportline badging. The fenders, roof rails, and suspension are lowered by 29 mm thanks to Eibach-specific springs, giving the van a more aggressive stance.
19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with exclusive Sportline details and matching emblems complete the exterior makeover. The Transporter Sportline also features Matrix LED IQ.Light headlights with coming home and leaving home functions, as well as Dynamic Light Assist.

Interior with sporty touches
The interior follows the same premium and driver-focused philosophy. The Sportline trim features eco-leather seats, handcrafted with the Sportline logo and contrasting red stitching. The steering wheel is also wrapped in leather and is heated, accompanied by unique Sportline floor mats, ambient lighting under the feet, and metal trim with illuminated door sills.

Loaded with features
As standard, the Transporter Sportline comes with keyless entry and start, heated and adjustable power-folding mirrors, and the Area View camera system, which makes maneuvering easier in various situations. These features integrate seamlessly into a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems.

Engine options galore
Volkswagen offers the Transporter Sportline with a wide range of engines, catering to current market demands. It's available with diesel, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrains. Diesel TDI variants also feature a 70-liter fuel tank.

Special edition transporter sportline 75
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Transporter, Volkswagen has also introduced a limited-edition Sportline 75, with only 75 units available, each numbered individually. This exclusive version features the Moss Green color, specific Sportline 75 details on the mirrors, and a interior with green contrast stitching on the seats and steering wheel.
Availability and pricing
The Transporter Sportline is set to hit the market in early 2026, with pre-orders opening in spring and deliveries following shortly. While pricing details for the Spanish market have not been disclosed, the UK pricing starts at £62,752 (approximately €72,000) for the short-wheelbase version and £63,796 (approximately €73,230) for the longer variant.
