Rowan atkinson's toyota gr yaris fetches £30,375 at auction

Toyota’s high-performance GR Yaris, previously owned by the iconic actor Rowan Atkinson, has been sold at auction for £30,375 – approximately $35,000. The car, a rare sight in the garage of a celebrity, was auctioned by Iconic Auctioneers and represents a unique opportunity for Automotive enthusiasts.

A purist's performance machine

The Toyota GR Yaris is renowned for its rally-inspired design and exceptional performance. It’s a car built for driving purists who prioritize pure driving enjoyment. Atkinson purchased the Platinum White Pearl model three years ago and covered 10,780 km, a significant distance even for a high-performance vehicle. The car was meticulously maintained and presented in near-new condition at auction.

Circuit pack enhancements

This particular GR Yaris features the desirable Circuit Pack, adding enhanced sportiness. This optional package includes upgrades such as improved suspension, a limited-slip differential on both axles, forged wheels, and more aggressive tires. The Circuit Pack makes the car ideal for track days and spirited driving on winding roads.

Specifications that excite

The GR Yaris boasts a potent 3-cylinder engine producing 261 horsepower, all-wheel drive, and a six-speed manual transmission (with an automatic option). Its compact dimensions (3.9 meters long, 1,355 kg) contribute to its agility and responsiveness. This combination has made the GR Yaris a highly sought-after vehicle since its launch.

Atkinson's extensive car collection

Rowan Atkinson is known not only for his comedic roles but also for his passion for automobiles. His collection is incredibly diverse, featuring a range of classic and modern vehicles. Some of the notable cars in his collection include:

• 1939 BMW 328 Roadster
• 1951 Jaguar Mark VII
• 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint
• Aston Martin V8 Vantage
• Aston Martin V8 Zagato (Sold for over €100,000)
• McLaren F1 (Previously owned and sold for over $12 million)

While the GR Yaris is a relatively recent addition, the McLaren F1 remains perhaps the most iconic car associated with the actor, a testament to his discerning taste.

A worthwhile investment

The sale of Atkinson's GR Yaris for £30,375 reflects the growing popularity of the model. New models start at around €48,500 in Spain. This auction result demonstrates the potential for high-performance vehicles, especially those with a notable provenance, to retain their value and appeal to collectors and enthusiasts.

The future of the gr yaris

While Rowan Atkinson has parted with his GR Yaris, his passion for cars remains evident in his extensive collection. The car is now in the hands of a new owner who will undoubtedly enjoy its thrilling performance and engaging driving dynamics. The GR Yaris continues to be a compelling option for those seeking a pure and exciting driving experience.
