Radar speeders nab over 246 million euros in fines
Speed cameras across Spain have issued a staggering 246,802,934 euros in fines last year for drivers exceeding the legal speed limits.
Excessive speed remains top traffic violation
Despite efforts to curb reckless driving, speeding remains by far the most common and costly traffic offense in Spain. According to data from Automovilistas Españoles Asociados (AEA), a 14% increase in speeding fines was recorded in 2025 compared to the previous year.
The AEA analysis reveals that nearly half of all traffic penalties issued in Spain are for speeding infractions. These fines, ranging from 100 to 600 euros, can also result in point deductions from a driver's license.

Valencia leads the pack in radar speed enforcement
Valencia takes the top spot for radar speed enforcement, with the A-7 highway's km 326 location issuing a whopping 90,766 speeding tickets in 2025 alone.
Coming in second is Alicante's CV-905 at km 7, followed closely by a radar on Navarra's A-15 at km 127, which doled out 67,445 fines.
Across Spain's network of highways, these speed cameras have been instrumental in cracking down on speeding and reaping the substantial revenue of 8.2 million euros in daily fines.
