Mcmurtry spéirling: el auto más rápido del mundo por fin llega a los clientes

The wait is over. After a decade of shrouded development and record-breaking performance, McMurtry Automotive is finally unleashing the Spéirling Pure – a hypercar electric monocoque designed to obliterate the boundaries of track performance.

A decade in the making, a revolution on the track

For years, the Spéirling has been a whispered legend, a ghost in the paddock, relentlessly pushing the limits of Automotive engineering. Now, those prototypes – having devoured countless kilometers during a ten-year research and development program – are poised to deliver an experience previously reserved for Formula 1. This isn't simply about speed; it’s about a fundamentally different approach to aerodynamics and power delivery.

Initially, the Spéirling generated buzz with its stunning victories at Goodwood and Top Gear – including the audacious feat of running upside down. But this new, definitive version represents a complete metamorphosis. We’re talking about a vehicle that generates over 2,000 kilograms of downforce at a standstill – a staggering figure that surpasses anything seen in contemporary production cars.

Engineering beyond the rules

Engineering beyond the rules

McMurtry Automotive has deliberately circumvented established norms, prioritizing performance above regulatory constraints. The result? A machine that defies conventional Automotive thinking. The entire production run – approximately 95% of the components – is new, a dramatic departure from the initial prototype. This isn’t about incremental improvements; it’s about a radical reimagining of what’s possible.

Raw power, unrivaled grip

Raw power, unrivaled grip

Underneath the sculpted carbon fiber monocoque lies a potent electric powertrain, boasting a newly upgraded 100 kWh battery, offering significantly enhanced track range and regenerative braking capabilities – capable of recouping up to 200 kW during deceleration. Combined with revised Helix electric motors and a redesigned transmission, the Spéirling delivers roughly 1,000 horsepower, channeled through all four wheels. But the true magic lies in the Downforce-on-Demand system – a patented technology that generates an astonishing 3 G of lateral acceleration in corners and a similar force during braking. That’s a level of grip and control that’s frankly, unsettling.

Luxury meets performance

Luxury meets performance

While pushing the boundaries of performance, McMurtry hasn’t neglected the driver experience. The new chassis offers increased driver space thanks to a lengthened wheelbase – now measuring 2.2 meters. Expect bespoke touches like integrated headlights, a dedicated helmet storage compartment, and a HANS device holder, elevating the Spéirling from a track weapon to a genuinely refined machine. The suspension has been meticulously tuned with wider Michelin slick tires and a newly implemented hydraulic steering system, inspired by Formula 1 technology – a welcome shift from the previous electric setup.

A coming showcase

A coming showcase

The Spéirling Pure will make its official debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, offering a tantalizing preview before its arrival in the United States at The Quail, Monterey Car Week. McMurtry’s co-founder and CEO, Thomas Yates, succinctly captures the essence of this extraordinary vehicle: “We offer something that no other manufacturer is capable of offering – an unparalleled combination of emotion, grip, acceleration, sound, aesthetics, and technology.” Let's be clear: this isn't just a car; it's a statement. It’s a declaration that the future of performance is electric, and utterly, relentlessly fast.
