Kia Sportage Black Edition Launches with Bold Design and Electrified Options

Kia has unveiled the Sportage Black Edition, a new top-tier trim level for the compact SUV, emphasizing design and offering a broad range of powertrain choices, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants.

Exterior Design Highlights

The Black Edition features a predominantly black exterior aesthetic, with glossy black finishes applied to the grille, exterior trim, side mirrors, roof rails, window sills, side skirts, lower bumper fascia, and underbody protection. Specific details include a black logo, Sportage emblem, and a dark metallic mesh insert on the grille. OLED headlights are available as an option, while standard equipment includes LED lighting. The SUV is offered with 17, 18, and 19-inch black-finished alloy wheels, complemented by matte black wheel arches.

Interior and Powertrain Options

Inside, the Black Edition boasts a dual 12.3-inch panoramic display as standard, with a black interior headliner. Ambient lighting is available as an option, and seat choices include Misty Grey (synthetic leather and suede) and Black Leather (leather and suede). Crucially, Kia is not limiting the Black Edition to a single powertrain.

Powertrain Range

The Sportage Black Edition’s powertrain options start with a 1.6-liter T-GDI gasoline engine, available in 150 hp and 180 hp versions, paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
