Hyundai Radically Redesigns the Tucson for Its Fifth Generation

Hyundai has completely revamped one of its models, moving beyond incremental updates to deliver a truly transformative redesign. While the manufacturing process likely involved Hyundai’s 3D-printing techniques, this article focuses on the new vehicle itself: a compact SUV, the Tucson, that has been radically altered.

A Significant Size Increase for the New Tucson

The fifth generation of the Tucson boasts a substantial increase in size. Hyundai has revealed the dimensions, showing a notable growth. The new vehicle now measures 4.7 meters in length (an increase of 60 mm), 1.9 meters in width (up 40 mm), and 1.6 meters in height (a 20 mm increase). The wheelbase has also expanded to 2.7 meters, resulting in a more spacious interior and wider door openings, enhancing comfort and family-friendliness.

Inside, drivers will find more space and several modifications. The cabin has been redesigned to accommodate the new Pleos infotainment system, featuring a larger touchscreen accompanied by physical controls. A thin screen continues to display the driver's instrument cluster behind the two-spoke steering wheel. Hyundai has once again opted for a complete redesign on the exterior, presenting a radical change beyond the increased dimensions. The new Tucson features a much more squared-off appearance.
