Elderly Pedelec Rider Injured After Collision with Driver Ignoring Red Light

A 73-year-old Pedelec rider was slightly injured on Saturday in Bietigheim-Bissingen after a crash while attempting to cross the B27 highway.

Driver Allegedly Disregarded Red Light

The driver of a dark small car is suspected of running a red light on the B27 and continuing to drive. The Pedelec rider was waiting at an intersection to cross onto a bike protection strip towards Dammstraße when his light turned green. Immediately afterward, he had to brake sharply as the car, heading towards the Bahnhof (train station), allegedly ignored the red light.

Collision Avoided, Rider Injured

The Pedelec rider was able to avoid a collision but fell onto the roadway due to the sudden braking, sustaining minor injuries. The unknown car reportedly stopped shortly after the incident, with the driver and an approximately 30-year-old male passenger with dark hair and a mustache observed looking out the window. The pair then continued their journey towards the Bahnhof without checking on the injured 73-year-old.
