Ebro expands hybrid lineup with s700 hev, priced from €28,990
Ebro continues to bolster its electric-hybrid offerings, this time retrofitting one of its early releases, the Ebro S700, to complete its gasoline and plug-in hybrid powertrain lineup with the S700 HEV. The SUV earns the coveted ECO badge from Spain's DGT, following in the footsteps of its smaller sibling, the Ebro S400.
nAvailability and pricing
nThe S700 HEV is now available in the Spanish market, with a starting price of €28,990, inclusive of promotional discounts from the brand and financing through CA Auto Bank. This limited launch offer will run until the end of April.
n
Design and dimensions
nVisually, the S700 HEV is largely unchanged, retaining the same familiar design cues as its gasoline and plug-in hybrid variants. The front end boasts Ebro's signature octagonal grille, flanked by LED daytime running lights integrated into the group headlights. The vehicle rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, with prominent body cladding and a raised hood.
nMeasuring 4,553 mm long, 1,862 mm wide, and 1,696 mm tall, the S700 HEV remains a compact SUV firmly positioned in Spain's most in-demand market segment. Its five-seat layout and 369-liter boot capacity (484 liters to the roof, expandable to 1,269 liters with rear seats folded) offer practicality to match its eco-friendly credentials.
n
Interior and features
nInside, the S700 HEV's cabin mirrors that of its gasoline and plug-in hybrid siblings, with an identical driver's configuration featuring two connected screens, a flattened multifunction steering wheel, and a carbon fiber-like trim running the width of the dashboard. Even the analog button layout on the central console and premium-grade materials suggest a brand more accustomed to luxury than mass-market fare.
nAs standard, the S700 HEV comes well-equipped, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen, wireless connectivity, voice-assisted intelligent control, navigation, a 540-degree HD panoramic camera, front and rear parking sensors, rain sensor, automatic full-LED headlights, a Sony sound system, heated front seats with electric adjustment, keyless entry and start, and dual-zone climate control.
n
Hybrid powertrain
nUnder the hood, the S700 HEV combines a 1.5T DHE gasoline engine, two electric motors, a dual-motor hybrid transmission, and a battery pack. The thermal component – a fifth-generation 1.5T DHE – boasts an efficiency rating of 44.5%, delivering 105 kW (143 hp) and 215 Nm. The electric side, meanwhile, achieves 98.5% efficiency, contributing 150 kW and 310 Nm. This hybrid synergy results in a combined output of 165 kW (224 hp) and 295 Nm, enabling 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.7 seconds and a top speed of 175 km/h, while officially sipping just 5.7 liters per 100 kilometers and emitting 129 grams of CO2 per kilometer – good for an estimated 900-kilometer range.
