Dacia Sandero Becomes Spain's Best-Selling Car, Now Electrified

The Dacia Sandero continues its reign as Spain’s top-selling car, with over 2,000 units registered in August alone, bringing the year-to-date total to 23,769. The vehicle’s affordability, particularly the ECO-G GLP version offering access to the DGT’s ECO label, has been a key driver of sales.

Dacia Introduces First Electrified Sandero

Despite the summer season, the Automotive market maintains a positive pace, largely thanks to Dacia’s strong performance. Currently, the Sandero’s most popular configuration is a white Sandero Stepway with a GLP engine and Expression trim. Now, Dacia is introducing its first-ever electrified version: the Dacia Sandero Hybrid 155.

This hybrid model, familiar to Dacia fans from the Jogger and Duster, will be priced under €20,000. It combines a 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing 109 CV with two electric motors, adding a further 50 CV for a total output of 155 CV. A high-voltage starter/generator and a 1.4 kWh battery (230V) complete the powertrain, along with a four-speed automatic electric gearbox.

Dacia claims the Sandero Hybrid can operate in electric mode for 80% of urban driving, achieving a combined fuel consumption of 4.2-4.4 liters per 100 km, with CO2 emissions ranging from 96-100 g/km, depending on the trim level and body style (Sandero or Stepway).

Dacia emphasizes that this launch democratizes hybridization within the B-segment, starting at €19,890. The company highlights that the Sandero’s continued success is due to its competitive pricing and the availability of the ECO label.
