Cleveland truck bed rises while driving, slams into sign
A city truck's bed unexpectedly lifted while it was in motion, causing a chain reaction that ended with the vehicle slamming into a highway sign.

Cleveland driver says no one told him about rising bed
The incident, which occurred in May, blocked traffic on the Shoreway for hours. Footage from police body cameras shows the driver telling officers he didn't know the bed was rising until it was too late.
According to the police report, the driver, who works for the city's Water Pollution Control, said he was taking the truck to a repair shop and didn't notice anything was wrong until a following vehicle tried to alert him to the issue.
By the time the driver realized the problem, the bed had already lifted significantly, leaving the truck unstable and prone to accidents. The vehicle continued along the highway for over two miles before crashing into the sign, which then fell on top of another vehicle.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the incident. However, the new video footage provides a harrowing glimpse into the moments leading up to the catastrophic crash.
