Byd atto 3 evo: a refined c-suv gets a significant boost
Hello, I'm Elizabeth Jones from CarHireHub, and I'm thrilled to bring you the latest on the revamped BYD Atto 3 EVO. This popular C-SUV, first introduced three years ago, has been updated based on valuable feedback from European drivers. BYD has a proven track record of listening to its customer base, and the EVO reflects that commitment perfectly. The changes aren't drastic, but they address key areas for improvement, promising a more refined and enjoyable driving experience.

What's new with the atto 3 evo? subtle exterior tweaks
At first glance, the BYD Atto 3 EVO maintains its familiar silhouette. However, closer inspection reveals a range of subtle yet impactful design enhancements. These include redesigned front and rear bumpers, new 18-inch alloy wheels, and more sculpted side skirts and a sportier rear spoiler. The distinctive Dragon Face front end remains, complete with a grille that mimics a dragon's whiskers. These tweaks contribute to a more modern and dynamic appearance without sacrificing the original model's appeal.

Tech upgrades inside the cabin
Inside, the BYD Atto 3 EVO boasts a significant technology upgrade. A new 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch multimedia touchscreen dominate the cabin. Higher-quality materials are used throughout, and the standard equipment list has been expanded to include premium features like a Head-Up Display. A notable change is the relocation of the gear selector to the steering column, freeing up space in the center console and creating a more spacious feel. The steering wheel has also been redesigned for improved ergonomics.

More room in the trunk – a key improvement
One of the primary concerns of early adopters of the original Atto 3 was the limited trunk space. BYD has addressed this head-on, increasing the trunk capacity by a substantial 50 liters. With all five seats in place, the trunk now offers 490 liters, expanding to a class-leading 1,360 liters with the rear seats folded. Additionally, a 50-liter front trunk (frunk) has been added, bringing the total cargo capacity to 591 liters.

Driving impressions: the design version
Our initial drive of the BYD Atto 3 EVO Design, the base model, was encouraging. Despite being the entry-level trim, the 313 hp powertrain provides strong acceleration, particularly well-suited for urban driving. The improved suspension is immediately noticeable, providing excellent stability and composure, even on winding roads. The steering is more direct and responsive than its predecessor, offering a more engaging driving feel. However, the reliance on touchscreen controls for basic functions like climate control remains a drawback, common in many Chinese vehicles.

Powertrain and performance options
The BYD Atto 3 EVO now offers a wider range of powertrain options. The base Design model features a single rear-wheel-drive motor producing 313 hp and 380 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and offering a combined range of 510 km. The higher-spec Excellence model includes an additional front motor for all-wheel drive, delivering a combined output of 449 hp (330 kW) and 560 Nm of torque, allowing it to sprint to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds while maintaining a combined range of 470 km. Both versions share a 74.8 kWh Blade Battery and support fast charging up to 220 kW.
Pricing and availability
The BYD Atto 3 EVO starts at €29,455 for the base Design model, before any incentives. Adding government schemes like Auto +, CAE and financing options can significantly reduce the final cost. Without these, the starting price rises to €42,990. The BYD Atto 3 EVO is now available at dealerships across Europe. As with other BYD models, it comes with a comprehensive warranty: six years for the vehicle and eight years or 250,000 km for the battery, ensuring at least 70% battery health.
