Audi A6 e-tron Shatters Lucid Air Record with 1,338 km Range
The concern surrounding electric vehicle range is rapidly diminishing, driven by advancements in battery technology and charging infrastructure. Three key factors are contributing to this shift.
New Electric Cars Offering Extended Range
New electric vehicles are now capable of traveling significantly longer distances on a single charge. The Audi A6 e-tron exemplifies this, showcasing increased range capabilities.

Expanding Charging Infrastructure and Faster Charging Speeds
Alongside improved range, the charging infrastructure is also expanding. Spain currently boasts 74,503 public charging points, although a significant portion (25%) are currently inoperable. Furthermore, charging speeds are steadily increasing, moving closer to alleviating ‘range anxiety’.

Audi A6 e-tron Breaks Lucid Record
Audi has recently surpassed the previous Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an electric vehicle. An Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance, driven by rally champion Miko Marczyk, completed a 1,338 kilometer journey from Zakopane, Poland, to Hel, traversing through multiple cities and utilizing regenerative braking. The vehicle, equipped with a powerful 367 CV motor, achieved an average energy consumption of 7.09 kWh/100 km despite operating on public roads during peak traffic hours.

Lucid Air Grand Touring Previously Held Record
Previously, the Lucid Air Grand Touring held the record, covering the route from St. Moritz, Switzerland, to Munich, Germany, a distance of 1,205.8 kilometers without needing to recharge. Lucid officially homologates a range of 960 kilometers for the Air Grand Touring.
