Audi A2 e-tron to Launch in 2026, Targeting A1 and Q2 Buyers
Audi is preparing the A2 e-tron, a new all-electric compact car slated for release in 2026. The vehicle aims to recapture the audience lost with the discontinued Audi A1 and Q2 models, drawing inspiration from the late 90s A2’s blend of sedan and MPV characteristics.
Competing with Toyota C-HR+
The A2 e-tron will compete with the Toyota C-HR+, a larger electric SUV from Toyota, offering a similar price point. Both vehicles prioritize spaciousness and cargo capacity.

Efficiency and Aerodynamics
Manufactured in Ingolstadt, the A2 e-tron boasts a minimum consumption of 12.8 kWh/100 km and a drag coefficient (Cx) of 0.24, emphasizing efficiency. The Toyota C-HR+ is currently the best-selling electric vehicle in Spain, with 2,921 deliveries recorded through August, pending September figures.

Specifications and Features
The Audi A2 e-tron measures 4.32 meters in length, 1.79 meters wide, and 1.55 meters high, with a 2.77-meter wheelbase. Its starting price is €35,760. The exterior design echoes the original A2, notably featuring a Singleframe grille absence. The interior offers a spacious and comfortable environment, with a slightly higher head clearance compared to the C-HR+ but less legroom. The cargo capacity is 396 liters.

Sustainability and Technology
The A2 e-tron incorporates over 300 recycled components, including steel, aluminum, and plastics. A ‘Softwrap’ interior surface made of fabric extends from the dashboard to the rear, enhancing comfort. Standard equipment includes a 11.9-inch virtual cockpit plus and a 12.8-inch MMI touchscreen. An optional augmented reality head-up display is also available.
